Zameranie: Informácie, AI a sloboda rozhodovania
Odpoveď býva takmer vždy znepokojujúcejšia, než by človek očakával, čo prirodzene vedie k diskusii o tom, prečo sú etika a regulácia umelej inteligencie dôležité.
Filozofi budú zastávať a obhajovať provokatívne tézy z oblasti etiky umelej inteligencie – dokážete argumentáciou zmeniť ich názor?

Title: Responsible and Trustworthy AI
Institution: Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies, DAITABLE, Institute of Philosophy SAS
Topic: Information, AI and freedom of decision
Information: AI: reality or dystopia? You will be presented with a series of short scenarios describing AI systems used in courts, workplaces, or schools, and your task will be to determine whether each one is real or fictional. The answer is almost always more unsettling than one might expect, naturally leading to a discussion on why AI ethics and regulation matter. You can even step into the shoes of a European lawmaker! You will receive a set of various AI systems and attempt to arrange them in a risk-based pyramid—ranging from those that should be banned to those posing little to no risk.
There will be a drawing contest for children! A kitchen robot looks different from a therapeutic robot in a care home, which in turn differs from an industrial robot. A robot might look, speak, and act like a human—but it doesn’t have to. We will consider when it is necessary for a robot to resemble a human—and when that resemblance does more harm than good. Unleash your creativity and draw a robot designed to perform a specific task. We will award prizes for the best entries.
We are bringing a famous meme to life with the „Change My Mind“ activity. Philosophers will champion and defend provocative theses regarding AI ethics—can you change their minds through argumentation? You can also test how a chatbot reacts to unusual requests—such as asking it to be your friend, keep a secret, or do your homework for you. Using specific examples of responses from the industrial chatbot DAIVE, we will demonstrate where the chatbot acted correctly and where it could have proceeded differently, as well as what it actually means to say that AI should be ethical and trustworthy.
