Informácie: Priblížime vám, ako geologické procesy formovali zdroje, na ktorých stojí moderná spoločnosť. Zameriame sa na vznik ropy, uhlia a fosílií, ich pôvod v dávnych ekosystémoch a miliónoch rokov prebiehajúcich procesoch v zemskej kôre. Ukážeme si, prečo sú tieto suroviny neobnoviteľné v ľudskom časovom horizonte a akú úlohu zohrávajú v diskusii o udržateľnosti a budúcnosti využívania prírodných zdrojov. Súčasťou budú aj ukážky hornín a fosílií, ktoré si budete môcť prezrieť zblízka

Information: We will introduce how geological processes have shaped the resources on which modern society depends. We will focus on the formation of oil, coal, and fossils, their origins in ancient ecosystems, and the processes occurring over millions of years within the Earth’s crust. We will show why these resources are non-renewable on a human timescale and the role they play in discussions about sustainability and the future use of natural resources. The stand will also feature samples of rocks and fossils that you can examine up close.
