Lecturer: Konrad Szymanski, Research Center for Quantum Information at Institute of Physics Slovak Academy of Sciences.
Konrad was born in Krakow, where he began his academic career at the Jagiellonian University. After completing his PhD in physics (specializing in the mathematical aspects of quantum information), he worked at the University of Siegen in Germany. Recently, he moved to Bratislava, where he is currently working at the Centre for Quantum Information Research (CVKI) at the Institute of Physics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
Information
The lecture focuses on the geometry behind quantum mechanics. We will start with intuitive, everyday considerations and show how quantum theory changes our intuitive understanding. We will also see how the difference between the classical and quantum worlds can be understood through three-dimensional visualizations. The lecture will be held in English and does not require advanced knowledge of mathematics or physics.
